💡 The cheapest way
Paris has no free or cheap park-and-ride for visitors: the official parcs relais are for commuters with a charged Navigo pass. The cheapest sensible plan is a central underground car park, with the metro and walking from there; for a weekend, a Saemes weekend package costs €58–59 (Friday 14:00 to Monday 09:00). Street parking is paid Monday to Saturday 09:00–20:00 and free in the evening, on Sundays and on public holidays.
Free street parking
- All regulated street parking in Paris: Paid parking applies only Monday to Saturday from 09:00 to 20:00, so it is free from 20:00 to 09:00 every night, all day on Sundays and on public holidays, also in August. Visitors may stay at most 6 consecutive hours on one spot, and local signs still apply. Ways to pay less
Weekend flat rate
The Saemes weekend packages (Friday 14:00 to Monday 09:00) cost €58 at Quai Branly – Tour Eiffel and €59 at Rivoli – Sébastopol, against €39.20 and €47.70 for each 24 hours. For a Saturday and Sunday stay they are cheaper than two 24-hour days at Rivoli. Entries and exits are limited. saemes.fr/en/parking/parking-rivoli-sebastopol-en ↗
A car park beats the street after two hours
The city of Paris says that beyond 2 hours an underground car park is usually cheaper than the street (€6 an hour for the first two hours in zone 1, €4 in zone 2). Street parking is also capped at 6 hours for visitors. paris.fr/pages/trouver-un-parking-2270 ↗
Book ahead online
Indigo Neo sells prepaid parking online in many central car parks, usually at a lower price than the on-site hourly rate. Offers and prices depend on the car park, so compare on the site before you go. indigoneo.fr/fr/parking-paris ↗
Pay with an app
Street parking can be paid at the meter by contactless bank card or with an app. Flowbird stopped taking new payments for Paris on 4 July 2026: users are sent to EasyPark. Some meters no longer take the Paris Carte. paris.fr/pages/payer-son-stationnement-2129 ↗
Resident schemes do not apply to visitors
Resident rates (street and car parks) and the car park subscriptions that paris.fr lists need a Paris address and a registered vehicle there; the €75 a month parc relais subscription needs a charged Navigo pass. Visitors pay the visitor rate. paris.fr/pages/trouver-un-parking-2270 ↗
Watch out
No park and ride for visitors
The parcs relais of Île-de-France Mobilités are for commuters: €75 a month with a charged Navigo pass, open 05:30–23:59, no overnight parking. paris.fr lists no day rate for visitors. paris.fr/pages/trouver-un-parking-2270 ↗
Low emission zone (ZFE) inside the A86
Cars with Crit'Air 3, 4, 5 and unclassified cars may not drive inside the A86 ring on weekdays 08:00–20:00. No penalties are applied in 2026 (educational period to 31 December 2026). A Pass ZFE 24h (24 days a year, request at least 15 days ahead) exists for Crit'Air 3 cars. A Crit'Air sticker is required, also for foreign cars; order it at certificat-air.gouv.fr only. paris.fr/pages/la-zone-a-faibles-emissions-zfe-pour-lutter-contre-la-pollution-de-l-air-16799 ↗
Foreign cars are covered
The Métropole du Grand Paris says the ZFE applies to vehicles from other French regions and from abroad. metropolegrandparis.fr/fr/la-foire-aux-questions-de-la-zfe-metropolitaine ↗
Reserved lane on the Périphérique
On weekdays 07:00–10:30 and 16:00–20:00 a lane of the Périphérique is reserved for vehicles with at least two people, buses, taxis and a few others. A driver alone is fined €135. It is off on weekends and public holidays. paris.fr/pages/la-voie-reservee-sur-le-peripherique-entre-en-vigueur-le-3-mars-30106?lang=en ↗
Unpaid street parking: FPS
No ticket means a post-parking charge (FPS) equal to six hours of parking. Check the amount for the street on paris.fr. paris.fr/pages/payer-son-stationnement-2129 ↗
Heavy cars pay much more on the street
Petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid cars over 1.6 tonnes and electric cars over 2 tonnes pay a higher visitor tariff on the street. A car park is far cheaper. paris.fr/pages/payer-son-stationnement-2129 ↗
Height limit
Both Saemes car parks above take cars up to 1.90 m. Check before you enter with a roof box or van. saemes.fr/en/parking/parking-quai-branly-tour-eiffel-en ↗
Prices can change
The Saemes prices are those on the operator's pages when we checked (October 2026). Saemes says they are not contractual: check the page before you go. saemes.fr/en/parking/parking-quai-branly-tour-eiffel-en ↗
